Alissa Blair

Standards Researcher

Alissa Blair collaborates in research and development initiatives at WIDA in the areas of English language development, Spanish language development, and family engagement. To these collaborations Alissa brings cultural sensitivity and a commitment to educational equity that is valued by her peers. Alissa’s research interests include language use in and out of school, family engagement, and qualitative inquiry. Her work has appeared in Linguistics and Education, Critical Inquiry in Language Education, and Review of Research in Education, among others. She has teaching experience at the elementary, high school, and college levels.
