New WCER Website Highlights Research, People and Impact
The Wisconsin Center for Education Research (WCER) at the University of Wisconsin–Madison’s School of Education has launched a redesigned website that improves accessibility, strengthens navigation, and showcases the breadth and impact of education research taking place across the center.
Available at wcer.wisc.edu, the new website is the result of a comprehensive effort led by the School of Education’s Office of Research & Scholarship Communications team to create a more user-centered experience and advance WCER’s mission to conduct and share high-quality education research.
The redesigned site was built with a strong focus on external audiences, including researchers, funders, collaborators, media partners, policymakers and practitioners seeking to learn more about WCER’s work.
“This redesign reflects our commitment to highlighting and celebrating the extraordinary work happening throughout the WCER research community,” said WCER Interim Director Mariana Castro. “We wanted to create a digital experience that makes it easier for people to discover our researchers, explore projects, understand our impact, and connect with the work being done across the center.”
The first phase of the redesign focused on:
- Improving website accessibility and usability
- Simplifying navigation and content organization
- Enhancing search functionality
- Strengthening WCER’s digital presence and brand identity
- Increasing visibility of research projects and outcomes
The launch represents only part of a broader digital strategy for WCER. Future enhancements will include a staff directory and new research-insights features designed to help users more easily identify expertise, discover related work, and explore connections across WCER’s research portfolio.
Because website improvements will continue after launch, WCER encourages community members to provide feedback and report any issues they encounter.
