Evaluating Teacher Effectiveness
April 8, 2013
WCER researcher Sara Kraemer is leading an evaluation study of the Teacher Union Reform Network. That’s part of her job as is a technical assistance provider to the U.S. Department of Education Teacher Incentive Fund. The Teacher Union Reform Network (TURN) is a network of NEA and AFT locals whose members discuss and explore issues related to education reform and the role of teacher unions in advancing the cause of public education. Kraemer provides research, technical assistance, and consulting services in K-12 educational systems, with an emphasis on effective data-based decision making to support educators' professional growth. Her technical areas of expertise include educator evaluation systems, work system design and analysis, and effective systemic design. TURN affiliates examine policies, research, programs and practices that influence teaching effectiveness and teacher evaluation systems across the country. Members discuss the common core standards and how to integrate that work as a key component to improve teaching effectiveness and student learning. More information is available here.
