Supporting English Learners through Technology Systems
January 22, 2013
Students who are English Language Learners, and their teachers, will benefit from a new assessment system being developed by the 30-state WIDA consortium (World-Class Instructional Design and Assessment). ASSETS incorporates multiple technology-based assessments and a professional development program that corresponds to rigorous state academic standards, including the Common Core State Standards. The concept underlying ASSETS is that when educators know what students can do, they are better equipped to guide students in building their language base to access grade-level content to reach college and career readiness. More about ASSETS here.
