WCER Welcomes Carrie Parker As New MLRC Research Director

The Wisconsin Center For Education Research (WCER) is excited to announce today that Carrie Parker has joined the center’s Multilingual Learning Research Center (MLRC) as a Research Director.

As part of her role, Parker will collaborate with MLRC Research Director Mariana Castro and MLRC School Network Director Jon Nordmeyer to lead innovative research projects to improve educational outcomes for multilingual learners.

Parker brings extensive expertise in educational research, particularly in quantitative methodologies and evaluation studies focused on culturally and linguistically diverse students. Previously a Senior Principal Researcher at SRI International, she has over 20 years of experience working with states and districts to enhance programs for diverse learners. Her research specializes in examining language learning intersections with disabilities, and she has led numerous studies funded by the Institute of Education Sciences and the National Science Foundation. “I am excited and honored to be joining the MLRC team and look forward to collaborating on research that celebrates and makes a difference in the lives of multilingual learners,” said Parker of her new role.
