Elizabeth Warren
WIDA State Relations Specialist
Elizabeth Warren has been a member of the Consortium and State Relations Team since 2019 and serves as a State Relations Specialist. She is the SRS Lead for the Standards and Communications and Customer Service subcommittees and is a member of the WIDA Conference Content Committee. Her favorite part of her role is supporting SEAs in learning about WIDA and its offerings and helping them maximize their consortium membership benefits. Elizabeth first taught at the university level before beginning her career as a secondary EL specialist in Oklahoma public schools. Her desire to positively impact the lives of multilingual learners ultimately led Elizabeth to pursue positions with the Oklahoma State Department of Education that would allow her to assist in shaping progressive state policy related to serving MLs and their families. At OSDE, she served in a variety of roles, including state-wide EL Professional Learning Specialist, interim Title III Director, EL School Support Specialist, and finally, Director of English Language Proficiency Assessments. Elizabeth holds a Master of Fine Arts from California State University, Fresno, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from East Central University. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, hiking, and gardening.
