Alisa Rhoads
Professional Learning Specialist
Alisa Rhoads joined WIDA with over twenty-five years of experience as a multilingual educator, instructional coach, SIOP trainer and consultant. She has enjoyed living and working in the U.S., Brazil, and Mexico. Alisa taught students and coached educators from all over the world and has experience as a mainstream classroom teacher, K-12 ESOL teacher, and an instructional coach in pull-out, push-in, and co-teaching settings. As a Professional Learning Specialist at WIDA, she designs and facilitates professional development on various topics including literacy, math, collaboration, newcomers, and the WIDA ELD Standards Framework. She holds an advanced degree in Bilingual Multicultural Education from the University of Arizona and certifications in Instructional Design and Adult Learning. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her family at the beach, traveling, and reading.
