Christina Nelson

Professional Learning Specialist

Christina is a Professional Learning Specialist with WIDA’s international program facilitating the WIDA Institute. She taught and advocated for secondary multilingual learners from all over the world in Lawrence, Kansas, where she gained her master’s degree in education from the University of Kansas and mentored new ELL teachers, before continuing her career in Ecuador, Turkey and Vietnam. In Vietnam, Christina led the 6-12 EAL program and utilized the WIDA framework with her colleagues and students as well as facilitated workshops to international teachers.
