April 9, 2015, 12:00 to 1:00 pm
Educational Sciences Room 259, 1025 West Johnson Street
Adrienne Nishina
Associate Professor of Human Development and Family Studies, University of California, Davis
From infancy through old age, exposure to ethnic diversity can have multiple benefits. In her talk, Nishina will focus on how key developmental milestones in children may be supported by—or interact with—exposure to diversity that may ultimately affect their development. Nishina has discovered impacts ranging from psychosocial adjustment to school performance. She will discuss empirical findings from her research on adolescents and provide an overview of her current and future research.
