Jennifer Langer-Osuna leads the Stanford Identity, Engagement, and Learning Lab (StIELL) housed within the Center to Support Excellence in Teaching (CSET) at Stanford’s Graduate School of Education. Her research focuses on understanding how students negotiate influence, authority, merit, space, and turn-taking during collaborative problem-solving, and how social identities, such as race and gender, affect such negotiations. Her work has appeared in the Journal for Research in Mathematics Education, Journal of the Learning Sciences, Review of Research in Education, Mathematics Teaching and Learning, ZDM, Mathematics Education Research Journal, Canadian Journal of Science, Mathematics, and Technology Education, Education Sciences, among other outlets.
