University of Wisconsin--Madison
Ja'Dell Davis' main research interests focus on the sociological study of race and ethnicity and their function within the educational context. She is particularly interested in the experience of racially minoritized youth as they transition from high school to college. She focuses on the nature of the preparation these students receive as they are increasingly steered toward, and selecting predominantly white institutions. Underlying her main inquiries are whether student preparation includes pre-college interaction with white peers, discussion of student experiences around racial identity on predominantly white college campuses, or any other preparation around race and the college transition.
