Room 259, Educational Sciences Building

Mimi Engel

Associate Professor, University of Colorado-Boulder School of Education

Mimi Engel will shed light on truancy and absenteeism in elementary school among students from historically underserved groups in Chicago. She bases her findings on the results of a large-scale randomized evaluation of a program called Check & Connect, as well as interviews with program monitors, participating children and their families.

This lecture is part of the Interdisciplinary Training Seminar in Education Sciences Series, co-sponsored by CRECE (Center for Research on Early Childhood Education) and sponsored by the Wisconsin Center for Education Research and the Institute of Education Sciences.
