Lunch and Learn Series: Explore “Evicted: Poverty & Profit in the American City”

November 21, 2016, 12:00 - 1:00 PM

Educational Sciences Room 259, 1025 West Johnson Street

Kate McCleary

Facilitator

Join an informal discussion with WCER colleagues about the best-selling book by Harvard urban sociologist Matthew Desmond, a 2010 UW–Madison doctoral graduate.

The book, grounded in embedded fieldwork and data gathering, tells the stories of eight Milwaukee families. Kate McCleary, The LEAD Center, will facilitate and help us consider how eviction impacts individuals and families economically, socially and personally.
