As demand for dual language bilingual education (DLBE) programs continues to grow, it’s critical to compile evidence from high achieving DLBE programs to replicate what works. However, DLBE programs have diverse contexts and modes of implementation—making it difficult to understand what factors contribute to their success. Using the Guiding Principles for Dual Language Education as a framework, Dr. Arteagoitia documents characteristics observed in one of the two dual language programs selected on the basis of students’ longitudinal reading performance in one state.
