WIES Lecture: The Dimensional Divide: Learning from Media During Early Childhood

Despite guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatrics, media use is pervasive among young children. This talk will describe research examining the role of child experience, perceptual and cognitive constraints, and social scaffolding on learning from media. It will conclude with lessons for parents and early educators regarding the strategies that may enhance learning across the dimensional divide.
