Margaret Smith Crocco will explore the intersection between education reform proposals and gender, contrasting 20th century progressives' educational reform efforts with efforts from today's educational technology industry.
She will discuss why, in both cases, the gendered nature of reform remains constant with women teachers as objects rather than agents of change.
