May 9, 2011

CPRE researcher Steve Kimball and colleagues are helping the State’s Department of Public Instruction develop frameworks for teacher and principal evaluation. The Department has developed guiding principles of a high quality educator effectiveness system; building from these definitions, Kimball and colleagues support three areas of activities: 1) developing a model performance-based evaluation systems for teachers and principals; 2) developing a regulatory framework for implementation (which includes how student achievement data will be used in context); and 3) recommending methods to support educator improvement and recognize performance.
