The Power of Museum Exhibits

July 29, 2013

Children can learn a lot from museum exhibits, which reach millions of students every year. Matthew Berland and colleagues are developing an exhibit at the New York Hall of Science to study how informal engineering activities may eventually lead to more students pursuing engineering degrees. The project will log student activities and interaction with museum staff. The exhibit will reach large numbers of students from groups currently under-represented in engineering degree programs.
