New Grants

Susan Miller Smedema has received a grant of $199,064 from the U.S. Department of Education for “Increasing the Number of Qualified Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors in the State of Wisconsin and the Nation: The Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling Master’s Degree Program at UW-Madison” through Sept. 30, 2024.


Amy Bellmore has received a grant of $160,719 from the U.S. Department of Education for “Daily Experiences with Diversity: Academic and Social Adjustment in High School — Year 3” through June 30, 2020. 


Stephen Kilgus and Katie Eklund have been awarded $138,671 from the U.S. Dept. of Education for “Evaluating the Efficacy of a Daily Check-in/Check-out Intervention for Students At Risk for Emotional and Behavioral Disorders,” through July 31, 2024.


Steve Kimball has been awarded $1,302,702 from the U.S. Dept. of Education for “Wisconsin-Minnesota Comprehensive Center (WMCC) for Region 10,” through Sept. 30, 2024.


Christine Pfund has received a grant of $16,432 from the National Institutes of Health for “Center for Coordination of Analytics, Science, Enhancement, and Logistics (CASEL) in Tobacco Regulatory Science – Year 2,” through Aug. 31, 2020. 


Christine Pfund has been awarded $1,197,500 by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute for "Optimizing the Mentoring Relationships of Gilliam Fellows and Their Mentors: Phase 2" through August 31, 2024.


The National Science Foundation has awarded $556,754 to Ross Benbow, You-Geon Lee and Matt Hora for their study, “Exploring STEM Career Pathway Persistence Among Student Service Members and Veterans: A Mixed Methods Study of Social Support Networks," through Oct. 31, 2022.


David Gagnon has been awarded $1,276,071 from the National Science Foundation to develop "Collaborative Research: AquaLab 9: An Online Game to Support Science Practice Learning Using Adaptive Learning Progressions," through June. 30, 2023.
