New Grants

Annalee Good received a $40,892 grant from the JPB Foundation to study the impacts of K12 digital learning on post-secondary and labor market outcomes from Sept. 1, 2019 through Aug. 31, 2020.


Leema Berland was awarded an $80,000 grant from the George Lucas Educational Foundation to explore enabling conditions for high-quality project-based learning through Aug. 31, 2020.


Matthew Hora received a grant of $1.8 million from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for "Expanding Experiential Learning in Pathways Framework," which he will lead with collegues Ross Benbow, Bailey Smolarek, Zi Chen, Matthew Wolfgram and Amy Rivera, through May 31, 2021 


Erica Halverson has received $25,142 from the National Science Foundation for Collaboration, Creativity, and Computational Thinking: A Cooperative Musical Tinkering Game through August 15, 2019.


David Kaplan has been awarded $802,314 from the U.S. Department of Education to fund Bayesian Dynamic Borrowing: A Method for Utilizing Historical Data in Education Research through June 30, 2022.


Diana Hess has received a $1,000,000 award from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to fund The  Discussion Project through August 31, 2021.


Christine Pfund received a subcontracted award from WESTAT, the primary recipient of a National Institutes for Health grant running through August 31, 2023 that provides funding for the Center for Coordination of Analytics, Science, Enhancement and Logistics (CASEL) in Tobacco Regulatory Science.


David Gagnon received a $403,011 grant from the National Science Foundation in a subcontract with prime institution Maine Mathematics and Science Alliance for “Collaborative Research: STEMPorts: Community Workforce Development through Augmented STEM Learning Experiences” through Sept. 30, 2019.
